The Centre of Post-Graduate Legal Studies at IILM University School of Law announces the commencement of one year LL.M. (Master of Laws) Program from April 2020.
The LL.M. one-year degree program has been designed for intellectually curious and thoughtful candidates with focused career plans.
LLM offers a solid grounding in the fundamental principles, combined with the flexibility to explore one’s own interests with support from research-oriented teaching staff. the LLM curriculum involves learning new legal skills and stimulates thinking about concepts and methods more critically and deeply.
The exceptional academic preparation at the School of law provides an opportunity for a promising future. The LLM is the course of choice for career advancement and international credibility, particularly in today’s competitive and globally focussed legal environment.
The program is divided into three trimesters. There are three streams of one-year LL.M.
The LLM Program in IILM University School of Law; with specialization in:
- Corporate and Commercial Law
- Criminal and Security Law
- Alternate Dispute Resolution System

Pedagogy at IILM’s LLM Program
The school is committed to excellence in teaching and offers a rigorous and stimulating range of subjects to study, aligned to our strong research culture.
Our programs are taught by highly respected academic staff, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields, and by well-known visiting faculties.
Modules are taught intensively, with sufficient scope for creative and independent learning. Research opportunities, tutorials, presentations and seminar-style teaching are emphasized.
The approach is to infuse the teaching of law subjects with contemporary policy prescriptions. The workshops will be conducted to introduce students to research and equip them for research writing for dissertation.
Curriculum for IILM’s LLM Degree
The curriculum consists of three core courses and in addition students may decide to specialize studies in fields such as Business Law, Criminal Law and Alternate Dispute Resolution Systems.
The curriculum for One-Year LL.M. have the following components:
- Foundation/Compulsory Papers (3 papers of three credits each)
- Optional/Specialization Papers (6 papers of two credits each)
- Dissertation (three credits)
Career Opportunities
After successfully completing this program, one may choose a career as specialization lawyers, working in corporates, public offices, professors, judges, diplomats, human rights activists, researchers, business professionals, etc.
