IDIA Odisha First National Essay Competition
IDIA Odisha chapter CHAPTER is organizing an Essay Competition in collaboration with National Law University Odisha.
The IDIA project was initiated to reach out to these marginalized and under-represented groups, sensitize them to the law as a viable career option and help interested students acquire admission to these law schools.
It is hoped that such access to legal education would go some way towards empowering the marginalized and underprivileged students and the communities that they represent.
Theme
The theme of the competition is OPEN (which means that the author(s) can write on any topic of their choice, for eg: Contemporary or any legal issue).
Prizes
The competition carries total prize money worth Rs 8,000.
Winners -Rs. 5,000
First Runners-Up- Rs. 2,000
Second Runners-Up- Rs. 1,000
Additionally, Certificates of Participation will be issued to all participants and winners.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in any discipline in a recognized University/ College/ Institute in India and also to the students of schools in India. Co-authorship by a maximum of 2 students is permitted.
Word Limit
Essay-2000 words, excluding footnotes and abstract
Formatting Guidelines– TIMES NEW ROMAN, FONT SIZE 12, LINE SPACING 1.5.
The submission should include Abstract, Essay, Bibliography and Cover letter.
Deadline
Registration: 31th October 2017
Submission: 5th november 2017
