The Smt. Vinatadevi Tope Social Service League, one of the oldest and most prestigious student committees of Government Law College, Mumbai, is commemorating its semicentennial anniversary in the academic year 2015-16 and is inviting law students across the country to attend the 1st Principal Dr. Trimbak Krishna Tope Memorial Lecture, to be held on 2nd February, 2016 at 09:30 am at the Government Law College Auditorium, Churchgate, Mumbai.

An associate of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and a descendant of the revolutionary Tantya Tope, Dr. Trimbak Krishna Tope was a distinguished jurist, former two-time Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, former Sheriff of Mumbai, and the longest serving Principal of Government Law College, Mumbai.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice B. N. Srikrishna (Former Judge, Supreme Court of India) has given his kind consent to grace the event as the Chief Guest & Keynote Speaker, while Ms. Manjula Saboo (Fellow, Teach For India) shall be the Guest of Honour & Keynote Speaker.

The event will be attended by renown social activists and senior counsels, ex-members of the league, and law students across the country.

The socio-legal lecture will be followed by Shikhar’16 – a four day exhibition cum charity sale by NGOs, ensuring their creativity and economic sustainability.

The theme for the lecture and charity sale is “Eliminating Educational Inequity”.

Prior registration is mandatory to attend the lecture.
