About the Gandhi Fellowship
The Gandhi Fellowship is a synonym for positive change. This program is a huge leap forward in a country where education is a negatively debated issue.
It is a full time, 2-year residential leadership program awarded to the inspired and inventive youth from top universities and colleges across the country.
Fellowship started with a vision to build a conglomerate of next generation leaders of YOUTH who:
1. Aspire to bring a large-scale systemic change and resolve country’s pressing problems through their own innovations and social change ideas.
2. Practically work with 5 schools, 5 headmasters, 50 teachers, 500 children and the community in difficult rural and urban locations.
3. To develop the necessary 7 competencies of leadership and skills to move into a 10-year journey to impact a million lives.
Eligibility
Youth under the age of 25, who are achievers i.e. who have showcased excellence, rigour, and achievement in academics and/or extra -curricular activities (Sports, NSS, NCC, Voluntary work, performing arts, literature, etc) and with a deep passion and sense of responsibility towards bringing a solution to pressing problems of the country, may be just the right fit.
Young people from diverse streams
Such as Engineering, Applied & Pure Sciences, Commerce and Business, Humanities, & Liberal Arts, Social & Behavioural Science, Maths and Journalism, Education, Law, etc.

We have a rigorous 3-level personalized and reflective recruitment process based on the competencies of leadership
Registration for applications opens 10 September 2015
Application opens – 2 October 2015
This Fellowship encourages the environment of diversity, self-reliance and peer learning.
Youth undergo 2 year – 4 semester journey of inner-outer transformation to get first-hand in depth grassroots experience and to build 7 competencies of leadership.
Youth ideas, dreams, and aspirations are polished into 10 year plans to impact atleast a million lives.
Grant
Fellowship entails an all-inclusive monthly grant of Rs. 14,000, a fixed monthly phone allowance of Rs. 600 and rent-free accommodation and other allowances as applicable of the monthly grant of Rs. 14,000, half shall be paid on monthly basis and the remaining Rs. 7000 would be retained as interest-free reserve amount.
The cumulative reserve amount will be paid at the end of the Term of Fellowship after the period of 23 months for launching into their ideas and dreams.
