CFR-LA and Maadhyam are organizing a half-day ‘Workshop on Forest Rights Act: Prospects and Challenges’ for research assistants of current Members of Parliament.
The Workshop will cover the importance and potential of Forest Rights Act for securing land and community forest resource rights of Scheduled Tribes and Other Forest-Dwelling communities, implementation challenges and strategies to address these challenges.
The Workshop intends to equip RAs with the necessary knowledge, skills, resources, and networks with experts and activists, to assist them in providing able research support to MPs.
While the workshop is open to all RAs, we specifically encourage the following to apply:
1) Those working with MPs from the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and the North-eastern states
2) Those working with tribal MPs
3) Others interested in the subject
The Workshop will be held on 18 March 2018 in New Delhi and is free.
