Most journals in the US have a unique citation system (Blue Book), most journals in the UK have a unique citation system (OSCOLA), isn’t it time India had its own system?

The Faculty of Law, University of Delhi is conducting a two-day academic event, "Perspective 2014", which focuses on various issues pertaining to Law. The event is a forum that brings forth the outlook of distinguished experts of each field of law which would give us an overall view regarding the subject. On February 15, the alumni group notified the Law Faculty that they did not wish to continue any sort of association with the Law Faculty. The group subsequently did not respond to the University’s requests for information concerning preparations for the Moot. A 19 year old first year student of Indian Law Society's Law College (ILS, PUne) committed suicide in his room allegedly after failing the exams Saturday. Hundreds of ILS students met the principal Tuesday alleging error in the evaluation of answer sheets. Saumitra Dhoble was on vacation in his hometown Nagpur when the results were declared. In my opinion, for the first 5-6 years after graduating from law school, one should not seek to take up a specialisation, and should try their hand at various areas of law. I feel that this gives a holistic approach to one’s career. Also, one should, at an early point in their career, take in some experience in litigation.

According to a tender here and a layout map here the National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam will soon have as many as 12 CCTV cameras with DVR (Digital Video Recorders) installed in its premises.

This is to petition the Bar Council of India (BCI) to create a a two pronged Grievance Redressal Body for law students in India. The first arm of the Body shall be the Law School Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) which gives power to the students within a particular law school to voice their concerns to the college’s VC/Dean/Registrar and get them resolved. The second arm of the Body shall be the higher authority regulated by an Official of the BCI itself, the All India Law Students Grievance Redressal Authority (LASGRA), which the law students can approach if their law school’s Grievance Redressal Cell fails to perform. Furthermore, the Bar Council of India should take steps to ensure that every law school has adequate student representation in the decision making that affects the students.

Law students in India have wide-ranging serious complaints against the law schools/colleges they are studying in. The complaints range from issues like bad mess food and low internet connectivity to allegations that the top-most law school administrators are indulging in mal-practices and infringing the fundamental rights of the students. This is to petition the Bar Council of India (BCI) to create a a two pronged Grievance Redressal Body for law students in India.

While negotiations were going on the Police arrived on scene claiming the students were violating the Election code of Conduct in place and various provisions of the IPC and if they continued individual FIRs would be launched.

According to one student the VC at RMLNLU refuses to give the students any right "to question the rationale " and has threatened the students that the administration will "throw them out of the university".

London returned Professor Prabhash Ranjan who had, after a bureaucratic dispute, resigned from faculty position at NUJS Kolkata on June 4, 2012 to join NLU Jodhpur will now be joining South Asian University, Delhi. According to sources, Prof. Ranjan was not comfortable working with the 'system' at NLU Jodhpur.
