Campus Law Centre’s Seminars, Debates and Discussions Society (SDS) brings to you its first-ever National Debate on the topic “Customs and Cultural Identity Are Impediments to Legal Reforms” on 29th March 2017.
This debate exemplifies the constant endeavour of the nearly century-old institution to provide a platform for diverse views on contemporary social and legal issues, helping to understand society and its evolution, thereby maintaining the spirit of dynamism.
FORMAT FOR THE DEBATE
ROUND 1: PRELIMINARY SELECTION PROCESS
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT- Students are required to submit a 500-word abstract, which is to be accompanied by a two-minute video recording of the same. They can decide to take a position either For the Motion or Against the Motion.
The abstract should clearly indicate the side chosen by the participant and reflect a view consistent with it.

ROUND 2: LIVE DEBATE
SELECTION OF FINALIST – 10 speakers would be selected based on the above-mentioned abstracts and videos (5 speakers For the Motion and 5 speakers Against the Motion) to appear for a debate at Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi.
