Call for Volunteers at Umeed Initiative, Delhi; Voluntary, Part-time, Unpaid; Apply by 14th April 2014

Umeed Initiative is an NGO registered under Section 60 of the Indian Trusts Act, 1882Umeed Initiative is a Non Government Organization which was established in 2013 to act as a conduit between people and the government and to reach out to people at the grass-root level.

Our organization plans to assist the people at the grass-root level by providing free legal aid & healthcare facilities, generating awareness and educating people about social issues and providing professional training to youth.

Since its inception, the organization has been working in the arena of Women and Child Empowerment through its various initiatives. We have also been actively involved in the management of the Election process in Delhi.

We currently have an educational project called ‘Little Wings’ being carried out in Nizammudin Basti (behind Sundar Nursery). We have received approval from the following schools to extend our project there:

1) Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Jor Bagh

2) Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lodhi Road

In order to extend this project to the aforesaid schools, we need people to join us in the following positions:

1) Project Director (1)

2) Project Co-ordinator (3)

3) Volunteers (10)

Project Director will be in-charge of the full project and would be required to plan the specifics of the project, coordinate with the school management, project coordinator(s) and volunteers to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

The project coordinator(s) would be responsible for assigning work and supervising the volunteers in the schools assigned to them.

The slots are open only for law students based in Delhi. A certificate of experience shall be given for all the positions on successful completion of tenure or on demand. The positions are voluntary, part time and unpaid.

Best performers shall be given an opportunity to join the core committee of our organisation.
