About

KILA is organising Thinkers Workshop on Decentralisation and Development, 20-21 January 2016 at KILA.

The Workshop is organised in the context of emerging importance of the impact of decentralisation on development.

It is generally believed that decentralisation and participatory planning have a direct impact on social development.

The active involvement of people in local governance energises basic economic activities and leads to equitable distribution of resources for inclusive and sustainable development.

The workshop is expected to open up opportunities for a dialogue in all aspects relating to decentralisation and development.

Papers are invited in a wide range of substantive areas, including the following

1. Local Governments and Community Based Organisations

2. Local Governments and Care Services

3. Decentralisation: Fund, Functions and Functionaries

4. Participatory Planning and Social Development

5. Employment and Poverty Reduction

6. Rights-based Development

7. Community Governance

8. Livelihood and Micro-enterprises

Deadline

The final date for submitting abstracts (500 words in MS Word format) is Tuesday 15th December, 2015.

The abstract will be reviewed by an academic committee and final paper needs to be submitted on acceptance of abstract.

The final date of submission of full paper (5000 words) in MS Word format is Thursday 31 December, 2015.

Acceptance of final paper will be considered as registration for participants in the Conference.

No Registration Fee

There is no registration fee and the organisers will take care of food, accommodation and local travel.
