Call for Interns
Centre for Social Justice, Ahmedabad is inviting applications for its Winter Internship Programme-cum-Legal Aid Training Program ‘Nyaya Darshan’ in collaboration with Institute of Law, Nirma University.
The programme is open for all law students who are enrolled in 5-years or 3-years law course.
Duration
The Certificate Course-cum-Internship Program will be held between 27th November, 2017 and 16th December, 2017.
Registration Fee
The students are required to pay a fee of Rs. 5,000/- for pursuing the internship.
However, deserving candidates will be exempted from paying the fee.
The purpose of the programme is as follows:
- Understanding the relationship between law and society.
- Developing an understanding of vulnerability and discrimination.
- Developing an understanding of access to justice.
- Inculcating the understanding of Social Justice Lawyering among students.
The programme will cover the following topics:
- Concept of Legal Aid
- Paralegal Services
- Exposure to Legal Aid Clinic
- Organising of Camps
- Paralegal Writing
The methodology for the programme includes:
- Reading and writing assignments
- Presentations
- Field visit
- Case Compilation
- Personal log
- Interaction with experts
All law students, irrespective of their year are eligible to apply for the Certificate Course.
The duration of the course is 3 weeks, out of which 1 week will be Field Visit.
However, students who need to fulfill requirement of 4 weeks of internship will be given the opportunity to do so.
Total Number of Students
The total number of students selected for the programme will be 20.
Upon selection, the students will have to abide by the Protocol during the Certificate Course.
Any violation of protocol will be taken seriously and will result in cancellation of the Certificate Course and reporting to the College/ University authorities.
CSJ will not be able to provide any accommodation to the selected interns. But, it can help them in arranging accommodation at nearby PGs.
The students will be selected on the basis of written submissions and telephonic interview.
