Alexis Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) is a Centre for Excellence of the Alexis Society. The Centre is a collective of students and social activists dedicated to advance human rights in Indian sub-continent.
ACHR aims to take up research programmes which could be structured around the possibility of practical steps being taken at the ground level.
Through base-building, capacity building, action oriented member working groups, and joint strategies for addressing rights violations, ACHR seeks to bring about meaningful change that raises the standard of accountability in ensuring economic, social, cultural, environmental, civil and political rights.
Thus, the research is not only directed to ascertain ground realities, build data-bases, etc., but also to set up networks in the country that can be activated to promote and protect human rights and combat violations of such rights.
In pursuance of our mission and objectives, we are proud to release the second edition of our Newsletter, Daksha Bhu.
The theme for this year’s issue was “International Humanitarianism in the Global Era”.
