The Sant’Anna – Scuola Universitaria Superiore and the Institute of Law, Politics and Development are pleased to announce the 2015 AgLaw Colloquium on Current Issues of Agricultural Law in a Global Perspective, which will be held on Thursday 17 September and Friday 18 September, 2015.
The 2015 AgLaw Colloquium is inspired by the wish to share research results, ideas and novel exploration fields in the area of agricultural law considered in a global perspective.
The ultimate aim is to build a community of early career researchers interested in agricultural law in which they can find a supportive and stimulating environment.
2015 AgLaw Colloquium Themes
Every agricultural activity begins with the resources provided by nature: land, water, air, genetic resources and biodiversity. Traditionally regulated by national governments, natural resources and environmental protection are increasingly the object of international governance.
Moreover, the actors involved in the field of agriculture and food production are progressively more diversified in the new millennium. Topics such as small scale and large scale agriculture, urban and peri-urban agriculture, sustainable intensification, food and non-food production, bio-engineering, food security, the right to food and the rights of peasants are becoming burning issues for policy-makers.
A need for new regulation is emerging that is required to be more responsive to the current developments in the international arena and to take into account social and environmental considerations.
2015 AgLaw Colloquium Programme
The general theme of the Colloquium will be investigated through four Panels, each of them will be chaired by the following experts:
Panel I – Agri-Food Production: Tradition and Technologies
Chair: Vito Rubino (University of Piemonte Orientale, Italy)
