Name of the organisation. City. Office Address. How was the office? Team strength.
Pangea3 is a LPO (Legal Process Outsourcing Company), that has recently been acquired by Thomson Reuters and hence has an edge over other LPOs & boasts of being the best LPO in the market.
The office strength was over 300 & the office is quite nice if you look at it with infrastructure point of view and there is ‘log-out’ room which is basically a room with an XBOX and a TT table, the cafeteria was good enough too.
There is also a Cafe Coffee Day machine on all floors. (free coffee)
The office is in Sector-58, NOIDA, U.P.
Duration of internship
6 May, 2013 – 14 June, 2013 (6 weeks)
I was placed here through my college internship cell but one can easily get the contact details from their website, Google ‘Pangea 3’.
I interned at Pangea3 for about 6 weeks and this is the amount that they normally expect interns to work, although one can negotiate this as per his/her personal circumstances.
So, although the stated office days & hours is Mon-Fri & 10:00a.m. to 7:00 p.m. respectively but it varies hugely from project to project.
Here, they follow a complete computerized system of attendance and you have to finish 9 hours a day & if your project requires, they might ask you to stay (I was generally free by 7 but some of my friends who were placed in different projects had to sometime stay till 12 midnight and report back at 10 the next day.)
They might ask you to work on weekends, otherwise, Saturday/Sunday is an off.
So, the first two days of the internship is reserved for orientation, where they brief about the company, about who is who of the company (there are 1/2 Ivy League graduates as the VP in the NOIDA office) and the chain of command that the company follows.
There are three departments in Pangea3 i.e. 1) Litigation Solutions 2) Intellectual Property and 3) Corporate Solutions but interns are generally placed in the Litigation Solutions only and although they told that they will show around & give a briefing about the work in other departments, they did not.
Therefore, on the second day, they brief about the work in litigation solutions department, where & how they get that work etc.
But all-in-all, it’s okay, you just have to fill a few forms etc.
Main tasks
The main and only task given was ‘document review’. Now I cannot go in precise detail what document review is but I can sum it up by saying that the works come normally from the US, as in US courts all the documents to be used in a litigation are to be disclosed between the parties, therefore we were required to review and categorize these documents.
Now be aware that interning here in Litigation Solutions, that is the only task that you will do and the work WILL get monotonous after a while and will just be boring.
I interned at Pangea3 after someone advised me that I will learn the business structure of a LPO, and that is what I have learnt apart from that I didn’t find the internship intellectually stimulating.
If you want to know what a LPO is all about, get a feel of Corporate culture, Go for it ! But if you crave new work everyday and expect every other day to be different than the previous then this might not be a place for you.
Work environment, people
The work environment strictly depends upon the people you work with, as there are different projects and there are different teams for each project.
I was lucky since all the teams that I was placed with over the course of 6 weeks were nice and polite, my boss was good too as I sometimes left early and she wont have a problem with that, BUT again it strictly depends from project to project, there were friends of mine who were not permitted to leave before 10.
All in all the associates at Pangea3 are friendly, so don’t worry about that, if you have OKish social skills, you are good here.
The best things here will be the Thomson Reuters tag, learning the business structure of a LPO, getting a corporate feel & the XBOX 360 with Kinect Motion gaming and a TT table (yes you have an xbox here).
The worst is the monotonous work and the fact that there will be nothing new to learn after the 1st week.
Stipend/month
7500/month on a pro-rata basis.
I am a Delhite, so I used the company cab that they provide at a reasonable rate and finding PGs/flat in NOIDA is not a difficult task.
We normally played XBOX in our free time.
