Name of Organisation, City?
Lawhive Associates, Mumbai
Duration of internship?
6 weeks
How big was the office? Team Strength?
Lawhive Associates has quite a small office. There are just 3 associates and the head of the firm.
Application Procedure? Internship contact details?
Send a cover letter and C.V to saveena@lawhiveassociates.com
Timings? Number of working days per week?
The office is working 6 days a week. The timings are 10am to 8:30 pm.
Accommodation: how? where? reviews?
Since I am based in Mumbai, accommodation was not an issue, however PG accommodation can be found close by.
First Impression? First day? Formalities?
Lawhive Associates seemed like an informal area to work in, the people are warm and young.
I was asked to proofread some agreements as the first task. There were no formalities other than having a short word with the boss.
Main Tasks?
Main tasks include drafting of agreements, research, comparing and proof reading and the occasional typing.
Work Environment? People?
The associates at Lawhive are young and never treated us as just interns. They are very helpful and take time out to explain the tasks in detail.
Best things?
We are allowed to work at our own pace and take breaks when needed. Since the firm deals with some big names in the Media, it is exciting to be working for them.
Things that could’ve been better?
Work hours are pretty long and being a student, I found it hectic and very taxing.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns?
My co-intern and I went out every evening to get a quick bite or just some fresh air. Since the office is in Bandra, there are a lot of places to chill at.
Biggest lessons?
Getting some good exposure to media law and IPR. I think it’s important that every student must explore all the different fields of law before choosing one.
