Today, we would like to give a special mention to the recent brilliant performances of Indian mooters at the global level.
I. Legendary Moot: 56th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot
The most popular moot in the world saw 4 Indian teams participating in the competition i.e. Nalsar Hyderabad, NLU Jodhpur, JGLS Sonepat and NLSIU Bangalore.
2 Indian teams were a part of the top 16 clout (with one finishing as quarterfinalist), and seven speakers finished in the top 100 oralists. To add to the celebrations, three teams won top memorandum awards.
One speaker from the NALSAR team, Varun Baliga was adjudged the 3rd best oralist.
This performance is the second best in line following Raag Yadava’s performance in the 2013 rounds which earned him the 2nd best oralist spot.
His teammate, Sanya Samtani was declared the 16th best oralist in the world rounds.
The NLU Jodhpur team were awarded the 3rd Best Combined Memorial out of 600+ teams worldwide.
Speakers Sagik Das and Vinayak Panikkar won the 52nd and the 85th best oralist award.
JGLS’ speakers Samhith Malladi and Mohanakrishna Chandrasekaran were adjudged the 58th and 64th best oralist respectively while Vanshaj Jain of NLSIU achieved the 80th spot.
II. Leiden Sarin Air Law Moot Court Competition 2015
NUJS Kolkata emerged as runners-up of the competition.
Gourav Mohanty of Symbiosis Law School, Pune won the “Best Oralist” award of the global rounds.
III. ELSA WTO Moot 2015
NLU Jodhpur emerged winners in the Regional qualifiers.
NLSIU Bangalore finished at the 2nd place at the Asia Pacific Rounds of ELSA WTO Moot 2015.

Besides qualifying for the world rounds, NUJS also won the ‘Best orator’ award in the India rounds.
Not to forget that GNLU and NUJS have also qualified for the World Finals of ELSA.
