Application process
I had applied one month in advance via an email to drasdadvocate[at[gmail.com and I received a confirmation a week before the start of the internship through e-mail.
Duration and timing of the internship
20th January to 10th February 2020.
The timing was not fixed as such and usually, it was 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
First impression, first day formalities and infrastructure
On my first day, I was introduced to all the juniors and interns which were followed by our introduction specifying our name, college name and other details.
Everyone is approachable, no formalities as such, you get assigned work at the end of the previous day only. There were two offices, one at the High Court Chambers and other is owned near the District Court.
Main tasks
- Case study and preparation of the replies and other documents.
- Research work related to NDPS Act, Criminal Law, and Civil Law.
- Courtroom visits in High Court, District Court.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very good. Everyone in the office was friendly and always ready to help. Sir usually teaches us about the intricacies of the cases and about the drafting.
Accommodation
There are many hostels available around the High Court, Indore in between district court and high court, Indore.
Good things
The best thing here was that the work environment was very friendly. Sir and Sir’s Father who was also practicing use to teach us about the intricacies and how to sharpen the learning of the legal points.
Lesson learnt
- Work hard and never compare yourself with others.
- Always find a path to do something different from the crowd because everyone is working hard work smartly.
