Duration of internship

How did you apply?
I applied for this internship through LinkedIn, as the firm is quite active on this platform.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
Yes, we need to fill a Non-Disclosure Agreement and General Clause Agreement, as the firm is ISO Certified. So no compromise with the documentation part.
Main tasks
The firm does corporate and litigation work and has a number of cases dealing with arbitration, civil and constitutional appeals, insolvency, consumer disputes, debt recovery, white-collar and cybercrime, defence and property suit matters.
I was part of the litigation team and most of the work included making a brief of cases, research work, drafting and assisting associates before Supreme Court, High Court, District Courts and arbitrations.
Good things
- During the internship, I was mentored by Mrs. Rita Kumar (IAS Retd) and others.
- The interactive and conducive work environment gave me many insights into client handling, case strategy, commercial solutions etc.
- The compact & cooperative team has more than enough work on hand.
- There is a culture of teaching, an atmosphere of learning and responsibility with autonomy here – I had a “compressed learning” experience, thanks to the friendly, patient and professional associates – even interns are treated as a part of the firm and also, due credit is given for their work.
- During the period of my internship, I also got the opportunity to meet the CEO of the firm Dr Vinod Surana and other partners / senior associates of the firm. I Am more confident of making a mark in the profession than I was before joining. I have applied in advance for the assessment internship.
Bad things
Nothing bad as such.
Stipend
Rs 5000/- per month.
Accommodation, commuting to the office
The central location (Nehru Place) is convenient to reach work – close to the metro and work odd hours (many “round the clock” eateries!)
