Application Process
It was an Online Internship. Students were recruited upon the firm’s solicitation for the same.
One was required to send their resume, along with a cover letter detailing their interest to pursue the internship.
Upon clearance from application phase, students were followed by telephonic interviews.
Duration of internship and timings
3 months.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The work, to reiterate, was entirely online. We were divided into numerous teams.
Each team was delegated different sets of work ranging from case law research, framing of case notes, legal research on contemporary environment issues, and the like.
The delegation was made to suit our schedule, I believe. Since each week’s task could be satisfactorily completed within the time frame allotted.
Main tasks
Like mentioned, the main task revolved around research and writing. You get to deal with cartloads of cases decided by the NGT.
The entire frame was demarcated into weekly submission, which made time management much easier.
Work environment and people
The supervisors were affable. You were to report your work, upon completion, to the mentor assigned to your team.
Alternatively, you could approach them for any query you’ve come across mid way of your stint.
Best things
The flexibility involved allowed you to cater to your academics and an internship at the same time.
You get a lot of exposure to the actuality of environmental nuances. You hone your research skills and no doubt, your drafting skills too, in a square proportion!
Bad things
None that I could think of.
Stipend
None.
Biggest Lessons
You see how exactly environment concerns are a major pressing factor in our lives.
How the system works, how the issues are tackled and why so, which law governs the forest and which law governs the SEZs, tonnes of interesting pieces to skim through that’ll widen your outlook to a considerable extent for sure.
Any Other Thing
You may wish to deliver your best in due course of your internship.
For they do offer you positions of considerable interest after your internship; needless to say, that being directly proportional to your contribution throughout!
