Application Process
I had applied through the Campus Recruitment Committee in our college. There are two rounds of interview and if you clear both, you are allowed to come aboard. the interview mostly is on the various tasks which you have undertaken as per your CV and the branch of law in which you have interest.
Duration of Internship and Timings
My internship was from June 9th to July 9th, 2014.
The timings are quite flexible but make sure that if you are coming in late to the office you put in equally longer hours and stay back late.
The usual timings vary from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
First Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure
Wipro is a large establishment that handles product testing, innovation, IT support and Legal, amongst others. You need to have a Guest pass on the first day to enter the campus.
The Legal department operates out of SJP-1. You also need to have someone escort you in. You need to meet the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in the HR office who handles transition of new interns.
After due completion of paper work, you will need to apply for an Access Card which will enable you to access the necessary floors in the office. This should hardly take 2-3 days to process.
Once in, you will be oriented by the person in-charge regarding what Wipro Legal does, where do we come in and how to go about your work.
The intern is informed of the Verticals that he is expected to support, introduced to his mentors and handed over a workstation in which all the work is to be completed. Wipro is extremely strict about confidentiality.
Main Tasks
I was working with the contracts team and my main task involved reviewing agreements, preparing audits, research on Contracts Act, Competition Act and IPR.
At the end of my internship I was required to present a paper on a pre-chosen topic to the legal team.
Work Environment and People
The work environment is extremely relaxed and there is a steady flow of work.
The executives are quite approachable and will guide you whenever required.
Best Things
Its a fun and humbling work experience.
Bad Things
No Stipend
Biggest Lessons
Whatever you have learnt in 5 years of Law School is quite useless if you are planning to get placed in an MNC.

Guys, whoever decided to edit my write up and publish this, please note that it is not true that Wipro does not pay stipend. They pay a stipend of Rs. 12,000, just that it takes a little time to receive the cheque from the accounts department.
Please correct this ASAP.
