About the Conference
The Bar Council Punjab and Haryana is organizing an International Conference in the wake of 550th Birth Anniversary of Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the key note topic of ‘Philosophy of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and its relevance today in Equity, Social Justice and Environment’ which is to be inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde,
The Chief Justice of India in the august presence of Judges from the Supreme Court of India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. Dignitaries also include the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Judges from the Royal Court of Justice of England and Wales amongst others.
The Bar Council of India and the International Bar Association will be represented by Chairman Mr.Manan Kumar Mishra and President
Mr.Horacio Bernardes Neto respectively. The Ambassadors from the States of Ghana, Iraq, Palestine, Bosnia, Nepal amongst others will also be present. Mr. Ujjal Dosanjh, Dr. Pritam Singh, Dr. Mark Juergensmeyer, Shri Harinam Singh Khalsa, Professor Doris Jakobsh amongst other prominent Sikh socio-legal personalities will also grace.
The inaugural session on 01.02.2020 at the Gymnasium Hall Punjab University will begin at 11.00 AM followed by the plenary session with various working sessions on the key-note theme and sub-themes.
Eligibility
The conference is intended to benefit lawyers, teaching faculty, law students, scholar, professionals, international students (exchange/resident) and all persons engaged in public and social responsibilities (Government/ Private).
Themes/Sub-Themes
The key-note topic is ‘Philosophy of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and its relevance today in Equity, Social Justice and Environment’ with the following sub-topics:
- Cyber Crime prevention and control
- Fundamentals of access to justice
- Emerging dynamics and dimensions of Arbitration Law and ADR
- Women Empowerment, Gender Justice and Role of law
- State, Civil Society and Human Rights, Role of Law and Social Transformation

The soft copy of the paper must be sent via email given above before 31st January 2020.
Registration
The registration is open for all lawyers, teaching faculty, law students, scholars, professionals, international students (exchange/resident) and all persons engaged in public and social responsibilities (Government/Private) who can register (team list or individual) through the following means:
- Email (team list/individual):- In the subject mention whether the registration is for an ‘individual’ or ‘team’ and write the names with necessary details (college/ year/ institution/post/qualification/ organization etc.). The email shall be sent on icfeb20@gmail.com before 9:30 AM on 01.02.2020 after which no registration shall be done via email.
- Whatsapp (team list/individual):- The list of team members or individuals shall send their names with necessary details on +91-7973420497 (college/year/institution/ post/qualification /organization etc.) before 9:30 AM for inaugural session,12:30PM for plenary session and 02:15 PM for three working sessions respectively on 01.02.2020 after which no registration shall be done via Whatsapp.
- Web link:-The registration can be done online on this page after following the registration guidelines/sub-link provided on
the website. - On-spot registration:-The registration shall be open at two desks on the venue throughout the day.
There is no registration fee for this International Conference.
Note: The registration may be closed/reopened any time depending upon the seats/occupancy and vacancy.
