Application Process

I sent an email to info@legalogic.co.in.

I got a reply in about a week, and gave a phone interview. LegaLogic usually takes interns for a minimum period of one year. However, they made an exception for me, as my college is not located in Pune.

Duration of internship and timings

The internship at LegaLogic was for a period of 28 days. I would reach the office by 10 am. The associates would come earlier by 9 am. Work would go on till 6:30, and a few times beyond that. However, on most days I left by 7 pm.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The LegaLogic Office is spaced across two floors. When I went there on the first day, the first thing I noticed me was a Fingerprint Lock. And I was impressed!

Other law firms might have this too, it’s just that I thought it was a really cool feature. The moment I stepped in, I could clearly feel the aura of the office. I was asked to submit my marksheets and a pan card xerox. Then they gave me my own desk and computer.

After briefing me, I was introduced to everyone in the office, right from the partners to the chai walla. In all, it was a warm welcome.

Main tasks

On the first day itself, I was asked to assist with research on a problem of a client based in the UK. This trust bestowed upon me really gave me encouragement to work meticulously.

Besides that, my work involved research on various laws, making presentations, creating flowcharts relating to procedure in law, drafting and proof reading agreements, and attending meetings with clients.

In all, I got a great amount of exposure in regard to the workings of a law firm. And all that just after completing the first year.

Work environment and people

Let me put it this way. When I attended a client meeting with an associate at the firm, he introduced me as his colleague. The interns are treated with respect. The work environment at LegaLogic is friendly yet professional.

Everyone is approachable, even the managing partners. In fact, the managing partners took out time to teach me concepts in law.

I even went to see a football match at a pub with my colleagues. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I felt bad to leave on the last day.

Best things

The snacks, the people, the fingerprint scanner lock. Actually, just about everything. Bad things Sometimes the air conditioner was too strong for my taste. Stipend None

Biggest Lessons

Never use shortcuts while proofreading. Also, always back up what you have to say with adequate research.
