Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength
Luthra and Luthra Law Offices
Application Process
Applied to the HR through mail 6 months in advance.
Duration of internship and timings
1 month, timings 10 am to 7 pm.
Stayed late a few times till 9 pm, when I was assigned work and asked to finish before I leave.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
There were 4 – 5 more interns who joined with me.
We were given our ID cards (which you must carry everyday) and assigned our teams based on our preference, subject to availability.
The interns are seated together in a interns room equipt with computers for everyone (you are not allowed to use your own laptops/tablets in the office) and as and when there is a requirement of an intern, they are called by the associates.
The interns are allowed to accept work from other departments than the one they are assigned as long as they have finished any work that was assigned to them.
Main tasks
Only Research work is assigned to interns.
The firm is very serious about client confidentiality and even after signing a confidentiality agreement with the firm, interns are not told the name of the client/case that their research question pertains to.
Work environment and people
The associates and partners are friendly and helpful.
You get most of the work from associates, who expect good quality research from the interns and are willing to narrow down the research question and help them with relevant keywords.
If you consistently produce good work, and show willingness to take on more work, you might even get work directly from the partners.
Best things
The work environment is thoroughly professional but everyone is friendly and approachable.
You get to work with different departments with a lot of varied work available.
Also there is unlimited coffee and a one hour lunch break.
Bad things
None.
Stipend
No stipend.
