Duration of internship and timings

Minimum 3 months commitment to the NGO is asked for.

Office Timings are flexible but one is not required to be in office and work after 6: PM.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office is located in a posh locality, among other multi-crore offices in Nariman Point. The interior of the office is beautiful and elegant.

I was obviously quite nervous when I entered the office for the first time and was expecting some old man to welcome me and assign me a lot of work.

However, the very next moment a young lawyer who runs Footprints Foundation introduced himself as the boss.

Main tasks

The work involves writing articles on topics of Public Governance for the website, organizing RTI workshops and conferences and summarizing RTI case laws.

It’s a perfect place to intern in your 1st or 2nd year but the internship will not offer you much learning if you are already in your third, fourth or fifth year since the work is restricted to only issues of public governance and RTI.

Work environment and people

The office people are friendly and sweet and no body minds even if you take more tea breaks than you work.

Best things

The best thing is you can read anything and write on any topic. One’s ideas are always given due recognition and are welcomed.

Bad things

Requires a commitment of 3 months; the work becomes tedious after sometime!
