Application Process
I got the internship through a reference and was called into the office for filling the internship form.
First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
On the first day, the interns were called to Tis Hazari Court at 9:30 am sharp where the associates were already present. All the associates are very friendly and ready to help and answer all your queries.
During the day there were 3-4 matters in the court and the interns had to be present in all the proceedings and carefully listen to all the arguments and note down important things.
It is recommended to remember the name of the judge and the case and what all you learned from the case because at the end of the day Tripurari Sir tests your knowledge and how much you paid attention.
Main Tasks
The main tasks were:
- Attending court hearings in all the District Courts and High Court of Delhi.
- Preparing case Briefs on various case files.
- Editing/Drafting various legal documents.
- Attending client meetings.
- Research work
Good Things
The good thing about this internship was that I learned a lot about the working of district courts as all the matters were mainly in the district courts.
Another best thing was that Tripurari Sir used to take classes on the weekends, I could only attend the HMA class during my internship. It would have been lovely if I could also attend the CrPC and IPC class taken by Sir.
Bad Things
There were no bad things about this internship as such.
Stipend
No stipend
Accommodation Commute
I stay in Janakpuri and used to commute with a friend by car. But the nearest metro station is Lajpat Nagar Metro Station Gate number 3
Other Info
I also learned that the life of a lawyer is not at all easy. One has to be very hardworking, persistent and willing to learn new things.
