First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
On the very first day, I have to report to the Internship Coordinator where she briefs me about the working of the Chetanalaya.
Then a mentor was allotted to me, under whom I supposed to work throughout my internship period.
I wasn’t able to meet my mentor on the very first day because he went to the Court. In the afternoon, she gave me an Amendment Act and asked me to summarise it.
There was a quite furnished hall where almost 10 law students were sitting and paired to work together.
Main Tasks
Once you meet the mentor, it depends upon you how much you understand what he wants from you and your work. They are ready to help you and explain the things to you for multiple times but at the same time expect from you the best outcome.
Most of my work was related to Law. I was given an Act along with the synopsis as to what they want from me, I had to draft that Act according to the synopsis and submit it to them within 3 days.
Then once, my drafting was completed and approved, I had to move to the next task that was the presentation. I had to make a presentation of the draft highlighting all the important points with as much creativity as I can, I had to keep my mentor updated with my work.
Once my presentation was done, I was supposed to give a voice-over to that in Hindi elaborating the points. It took me two weeks to complete the tasks assigned to me.
Good Things
It was a good thing that they were very punctual as well as professional. It was very good to work in the organization. They would give you the proper time to have your lunch and ask as many questions from them regarding the tasks. They would revert to the mails within a reasonable time.
It was a complete balance of being strict and adjustable at the same time. After a week of my internship, I collected my certificate and also received appreciation for my work done there.
Bad Things
They expect the best from you, so one needs to work really hard and creative. So, Be Prepared!
Stipend
No stipend is paid.
Accommodation Commute
It is near the Janpath Metro Station. You can take an auto from there and reach the place within 10 minutes. On the first day, it might be difficult for you to find the place.
Other Info
Else, I am glad that I got an opportunity to work here. It was a great opportunity.
