Timings
You have to go court sharp at 10:30 and have to stay there typically around 3’o Clock. The Office timings are usually from 5:30 to 8:00 Clock.
It depends upon the work, sometimes we get free by 9:30 sometimes as early as a 7 ‘O’ clock. But if you like to leave early than you will be allowed without any hesitation.
Main Tasks
The law firm deals with only civil cases.
Our main task included reading case laws, writ petitions, order or decree of the district court or High Court.
We have to read the case file and frame an issue after discussing it with Umang Sir.
The main focus was on researching on the said framed issue and finding case laws, relevant statute etc.
We were assigned some interesting and enthralling task like drafting a legal agreement between two parties, drafting a writ petition. We were made to sit in a client meeting and observe it.
Through out the internship, I dealt with around 10-12 Statutes which mainly included COPRA, Companies Act, SARFAESI Act etc.
We were also asked to do some informal task like Making List of Dates, Flagging the Important Annexures, Arranging the Case File.
Work environment and people
Honestly Saying, I don’t think I can get such awesome Work environment at any other place. Umang Sir, under whom I pursued my internship is very polite and humble.
I never saw him getting angry. He does not differentiate between the associates and interns. He taught us lots of things, even beyond the legal work.
Associates are very cheerful and they helped us regarding our work. The ambiance of the office is very conducive for the work.
Stipend
We were not provided the stipend, but as an incentive, during the internship, we all went out for dinner and in the end were provided a book of Constitution of India.
