Duration of Internship and timings

June-July 2017 – 1 month which is the minimum duration

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office was nice, elegant and cozy. I was bit nervous since it was my first internship. Had a sense of corporate feeling.

First day was a very easy one, our Manager was very friendly and she introduced us to the rules, timings and everything required for an intern to know.

The internship began with an interview style interaction with the management team and the manager – where they tried to understand my interests and skills before assigning me work.

I was assigned work based on my responses and previous work experience.

Main tasks

Main task included research work for creating material for lawyers and law students in order for them to be better trained and informed.

I was part of the team which worked on the Legal Aptitude Test, where my team leader assigned me work as per the team’s targets.

I researched on a variety of questions which could be used as part of the test. I also researched on awareness material for daily use – I contributed towards a platform providing all the information for law students, professionals, aspirants under one platform.

Work environment and people

Work environment was energetic and people were compassionate about their work. There would be someone for guidance and mentoring every time.

Also, working with other interns was a great exposure as they were from a lot of different law schools across India.

Best thing

Friendly, comfortable and flexibility of the work environment and the work given – also the importance given to the feedback from the interns.

Bad thing

Sometimes the work assigned was quite boring. Still if you wish you could tell them to give different work anytime – I asked my manager and she did switch my work to something interesting.

Stipend

No stipend for junior interns. Only graduates or very senior students were eligible for stipend.

Biggest Lessons

If one has zeal to learn then there will be no small and big work for you.

Accommodation

Accommodation was not an issue since I have my home in Delhi. But, the office was just few meters from the CP main Metro Station so wherever you stay you can reach the office without an issue.

Office Timings

10 am – 6 pm, Monday – Friday

Yes, they were particular about the timings although if you have a genuine cause to be late, they will consider it. A maximum of 2 leaves is allowed during the internship.
