Duration of Internship and timings
I interned in K&T Law Offices from June 20, 2016 – July 21, 2016.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
There were no formalities on the first day of my internship. The infrastructure was cool and big. The office is located in a basement. As soon as you enter, there are huge cabins of partners.
As you go further you will see various stations for associates and interns. Stations were spacious enough and there were desktop on each table.
Main tasks
I was mainly given plenty of drafting work to sharpen my drafting skills. Drafting work including criminal complaint draft, drafting of Non-disclosure agreement.
I also conducted research work on various consultation papers related to telecommunication sector and also did extensive research on case laws.
Work environment and people
The environment of the office was very warm. Everyone in the office was every serious with their work. No play at the time of work.
The interns were encouraged to give their 100% to the tasks alloted to them. The associates and seniors are very friendly and frank. They were happy to help whenever asked for.
Best things
1. The market was nearby, we could get almost anything we wanted.
2. Snacks and coffee was provided.
3. The location of my office was good, we could reach their easily.
Bad things
Nothing was bad in K and T.
Stipend
No stipend was given.
Biggest Lessons
I learnt office etiquette and manners and to give the best when demanded. I realized that practical application of law is very different from the theoretical law.
It is very little what we are learning in our colleges. Internships teach us many things and are very essential for a bright future in law.
Accommodation
No, I didn’t stayed in a PG. I’m from Delhi and I stay with my family.
Office Timings
The official office timings were 10 am to 7 pm, 6 days a week.
The timings were usually strict but we were sometimes allowed to leave early in case of any emergency.
