Application Procedure

• Interns are required to go personally and visit UPSCDRC.
• Documents which are to be submitted: CV, Internship Application and approval letter from the college.

Duration/ Timings

• One month
• Holidays on Saturday and Sunday.
• Timings- 10 am to 4 pm

Accommodation

I stayed at my uncle’s place, which was 2 kilometers away from the commission.

Girls can have a PG nearby in Vikrant Khand itself and boys will need to arrange accordingly.

UPSCDRC does not take responsibility for anyone’s accommodation.

First Impression. First day, formalities etc.

The court clerk, Mr. P.N. Tiwari who received us cordially on the first day of the work introduced us to the Hon’ble Justice Virender Singh, President at UPSCDRC. He is a man of head and heart. He was ready to clear all our doubts and shared with us his experiences and enlightened us with his legal knowledge.

Main Task

We were asked to sit in the different courtrooms and listen proceedings and understand the court ethics.

When the proceedings were done with, we were provided with different judgments decided by UPSCDRC to read.

We were also given the matter of cases scheduled to be heard the next day, in order to grasp things more easily in the courtroom. In the end we were asked to submit a report.

Work Environment. People

Depends on the interests of the interns if they want to learn the working of these courts they need to run behind the lawyers and ask them to explain the procedure and working of these courts.

Best thing

You’ll never find such open hearted judges anywhere.

Bad thing

Lazy work environment.

Stipend/Month.

No stipend.

Biggest Lessons

Be vigilant in the courtrooms and only then would you be able to grasp the proceedings easily.
