Application Process with contact details
No application process followed.
Duration of internship and timings
May 9, 2016 – June 7, 2016.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First day I went to Saket district court there I was told to observe the trail in the court room.
Main tasks
Attended court hearings.
Took adjournment for a case in national commission for consumer disputes court.
Learnt how cross examination of witnesses and evidences takes place in the court.
Studied about hierarchy of courts and judges.
Researched on whether section 420 of IPC be treated as copyright or intellectual property rights.
Work environment and people
There were not many people with whom I worked or under whom I interned.
I attended the cases as well as office with my lawyer and his junior.
Best things
The best thing is that I learnt practical work of court which I haven’t done in my previous internships as I interned in a firm.
Since I interacted with different people for different purposes in the court so I got to know that each and every person present in the court is there for a particular purpose, they have to do their duty.
Since I have given a research work to do, so I also learnt how to research what points are relevant etc.
Moreover as I took the adjournment I got the opportunity to interact with the judge.
Bad things
It was too tiring to first attend the court and then office.
In high court sometimes interns are not allowed in the court rooms.
Sometimes I got free at 7 pm so it was too hectic.
When I visited Tees Hazari or Patiala House the environment or surroundings were not at all safe.
Stipend
No stipend
Biggest Lessons
In my opinion to gain practical experience is much more better than just sit in the office and reading case studies or filing notices or making applications.
So after this internship i’ll prefer that I do all my further internships gaining practical knowledge.
Accommodation
H 114 Shivaji Park west Punjabi Bagh New Delhi – 110026
Office Timings
It was mandatory to be present at 9.30 sharp in the respective court and then after the cases are over I was supposed to be present in the office in Lajpat Nagar to do further case studies.
