Application Process with contact details
I got their contact with random google search. I sent an email to anand@legacylawoffices.com and followed up. They got me the confirmation in a month.
Duration of internship and timings
January 2015
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First Day, being a new year, they just introduced me to everyone in their office. It was a half day due to new year and hence, they gave me off for that day within two hours.
Main tasks
The firm’s cases were almost related to arbitration.
Since I didn’t have any knowledge about arbitration, they gave me few books to read and get an understanding of how things work in arbitration.
Then I was handed over few cases of a construction company and asked to prepare synopsis of the same. Lastly, I prepared brief of the Law Commission report released at that time w.r.t. Amendment in Arbitration Act.
Work environment and people
It was a friendly work environment. Everyone was helpful. Even when I was wrong, they helped me out instead of screaming at me.
Best things
It was near to Nehru Place metro station and there was a market nearby. So, you could get every book/electronics/food you need.
Bad things
Office used to open a bit late sometimes
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
Make sure you always have a backup of your work. Mac might just screw you at last moment, leaving you amidst of nowhere. Then, you get scoldings from your seniors.
Also, make sure you have a worksheet maintained because you might, at your last day, be asked what the hell did you in a month.
Any Other Thing
None
Overall Rating
8
Accommodation
Since I live in Delhi NCR, I didn’t need a PG.
Office Timings
9 am – 5 pm.
Timings were quite relaxed. Though I was never late but they used to tell me you can leave early, if you have some work or would like to chill out.
