Application Process with contact details
I applied for this internship by sending my curriculam vitae to Ms. Kavita Srivastava at her email I’d which is – kavisriv@gmail.com
Duration of internship and timings
December 2015 – January, 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
After reaching office, they will ask you to write an application mentioning all your details that you gave in your mail.
Personal Advice: Do not forget to leave margin on the left side of the page while writing the application or be prepared for a good scolding.
Old office in which I did my internship was a fair place with basic establishment. However, I got to know that mam has shifted her office.
Main tasks
Form doing surveys to attending workshops on different social issues to debates and discussion, it was a very adventures journey of one month.
You will be the one going to actual police stations and places and asking questions to them about their work and then making a report on the same. The work is very exciting and full of practical knowledge.
They will make you understand a law or a particular aspect of social policy and then will make you do survey or research or detailed analysis of the same.
Work environment and people
Work environment is amazing!
While working there, I got to meet interns from 12 different colleges form various states of the country, all having different ways of perceiving things and thereby increasing my scope of understanding of the subject matter. People who took sessions were also very polite and tried their best to make us understand in every best possible way.
Best things
The journey from doing survey of coaching centers that whether they have sexual harassment at workplace committee to discussing issues related to police men working on Mahila Desk to visiting sessions and district court to having a session with State Human Rights Commission to visiting special homes for children and women could not have been possible without PUCL.
The experience you gain here is a once in a life time experience.
Every law student who aspires to have a deeper understanding of the society must intern here.
Bad things
1. There again you will meet students who will not let you work and will try to destroy your experience. Try to utilize your time and learn as much as you can from the people you are going to meet during this journey.
2. It is mandatory to do 28 days internship and even if you miss one or two days, mam will make sure you extend your duration and complete the days irrespective of that genuine problem your had.
3. The certificate.
Stipend
No stipend. Bear your own expenses.
PS: It is not a government funded organisation and will make you count every single penny they are spending on you, that includes the rent they pay for the office or the salary the give to Pappu Bhaiya.
Biggest Lessons
The early you come to know the ground reality of the system, the better is going to be for you to learn and understand and relae stuff. At PUCL JAIPUR, I learnt the importance of time management, group work and working selflessly.
Trust me on this, this is once in a life time experience and as law student you would not like to miss that.

Accommodation
There are so many PG’s available nearby the office I.e. Barkat Nagar. Being a localite, I stayed at my home.
Office Timings
I am actually laughing while answering this question .
There no fixed time when you step in for doing social work and then that dialogue of mam “we haven’t called you peeps, you yourself has applied for this internship”.
The timings strictly depends on the work you are assigned to do. Like while doing night surveys of Rainbasera’s in Jaipur, we worked till 1 am in midnight. And also Sunday is not a obvious off for the interns.
But yes, on an average they will make you work for 8 hours a day. No specific working hours.
