Duration of internship and timings

The duration of my internship was 4 weeks, in May 2016.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

On the first day I have to report at 10:00 am in the office of coordinator cum Registrar.

I reached there at 10:15, I have to wait there for some time, then sir reached, I along with another intern met him, he ask few question then told us to go to counsel room.

There other interns were present along with advisory counsel. The infrastructure was very good as it was an international arbitration center.

Main tasks

There were no main task as such. We were made to sit in the proceedings for the whole day and watch the boring proceedings. Apart from this we have nothing to do there.

Sometimes advisory counsel who working there allot us some clerical work. In the whole 4 week I was allotted only 2 case briefs to prepare.

My advice to all is that if you are in 1st year then only go for this internship as it will provide you nothing except observing arbitration proceedings.

Work environment and people

Work environment was good and the advisory counsel under whom we were working were very helpful.

The other staff working there was also very supportive.

They serve snacks during proceedings.

Biggest Lessons

Don’t apply for an internship by looking at the name of organisation. Do a proper research, inquire with people who have worked there earlier then go if it satisfied your need.

Accommodation

No accommodation was provided you have to find your own. I stayed in PG.

Office Timings

Office timing was 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and we had to reach there before 10:30. The time was pretty much flexible because it is hardly happen any day when we had to stay there after 5:00
