First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Luthra & Luthra is a big law firm which in on 1st floor and 9th floor in Ashoka Estate Building.

On the first day the interns have to wait for HR in the Conference Room, where the interns are offered departments of their choice like Corporate Restructuring, IPR, Litigation, Competition Law, Real Estate, Capital Markets, etc. The interns can choose according to their area of interest. However you can take work from different departments as well.

Main tasks

The main task assigned to the interns is extensive research work. My department was Corporate Restructuring and so I was assigned the research work of Corporate Law. The main work includes doing research on Case laws. I was also assigned the work for frame a legal opinion.

Work environment and people

There is a good learning environment and all the partners and associates are nice. Before assigning you the research work they explain you the proposition really well so that you find it easy to research. You can have free coffee from the canteen as a refreshment and can order snacks and food which are of reasonable rates.

Best things

There is a separate interns room where you can do chit-chat with other interns and you can easily get the permission to leave early or take a day off if you want.the location and timing of the office was good and as very good work is given, you can learn a lot there.

Bad things

There are no such bad things except that a few people from various law schools were given a lot of preference there.

Stipend

The stipend is Rs. 4000.

Biggest Lessons

To intern in any top Law firm, you must have the habit work continuously for long duration.
