Name of Organisation, Location city, Team Strength
Chambers of Advocate Aakash Prasad, Lucknow
Application Process
Well I personally knew Mr. Aakash Prasad so there was no as such application process for me but an ideal way to get to intern with him is to send him your CV along with a letter of recommendation of the institute where you are studying.
Email- aakashprasad@gmail.com
Office address – A-1, Sapru Marg, Lucknow
Residential Chamber – 1/146, Vijay Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
Duration of internship and timings
16th May, 2015 to 29th June, 2015
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I used to go to his residential chamber so as such there were hardly any formalities. However, we often had to go to the High Court so then it was necessary to wear formals. He has a small chamber when he sits in the evening. However, he also works as a junior associate in the Chambers of Mr Jayadeep Mathur, a renowned advocate of Lucknow.
Since Mr. Aakash Prasad is a graduate from NALSAR Hyderabad, he is well aware of the internship process and what all is necessary for an intern to learn, so therefore there is a teacher-student kind of bond that creates between the intern and Sir.
Main tasks
I had to work on a case regarding Reliance telephone tower radiations and had to prepare a brief as to how these radiations are not harmful
Next I contributed to criminal complicity of directors in disputes between companies and there was another matter where I had to prepare a model code to deal with sexual harassment at workplace for IGOs and NGOs.
So basically there is a lot of corporate and civil litigation and arbitration matters.
Work environment and people
Work environment is amazing as I already said that there is a teacher student bond. So basically, Mr. Aakash Prasad sits down and explains the provisions of the law that will be used in a particular case and why it will be used, is there any other alternative way.
Best things
In case someone genuinely wants to learn from the grass-root level, this is the best place as coming from an elite NLU, he knows and understands what the legal profession today commands and helps mold the aspiring lawyer in that very way.
Bad things
I couldn’t find any bad thing.
Stipend
Rs. 1100/-
Biggest Lessons
Mr. Aakash Prasad is also one of those persons who will counsel you for your future internships and at the end of the day you will feel that finally you have stepped into the legal profession.
