Duration of internship and timings

1st August, 2014 – 17th August, 2014

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

This Internship was actually to avoid the boredom which was caused due to the change in college opening date. Hence, It started before even I started my Law School. Hence, there were no formalities after a brief casual introduction, I was allotted my share of work.

Main tasks

I was teamed up with an Indonesian intern and our main task was to develop a database of retailers in different cities for sales collaboration. It also included calls made to over hundred retailers and land a sales opportunity.

Work environment and people

Since it is a NGO which provides employment opportunities to rural women by manufacturing handmade herbal soaps. I was exposed to the rural environment where I befriended the rural kids.

Ms. Jain was the only senior and all the others, including me were interns. All of us were quite helpful and friendly with each other.

Best things

The experience of an internship before I entered Law School, the actual exposure to work.

The presence of a spiritual soul in Ms Jain, which initiated spiritual talks and debates during lunch break.

Presence of a batch mate cum friend in the same office.

And the funny Hindi accent of my Indonesian friend, Kevin.

Bad things

Nothing.

Stipend

It included perks.

Biggest Lessons

Spiritualism is not always about getting detached from the outer world. It can also be contributing towards the betterment of the society with personal involvement and pursuing collective and inclusive growth.

Any Other Thing

It was the best internship ever. It made us work interestingly. All of us actually had fun while working.
