Duration of internship and timings
24-09-2014 to 21-10-2014
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
My first impression of CUTS International was really good, I was asked to fill the the basic details about my internship and what is your basic objective for this internship.
The office is very small in size, but the staff members treats you as a family.
Main tasks
The main task was to conduct various research related to child and women abuse. You also get the opportunity to accompany the team for field visit.
Work environment and people
My experience over here is one of the best one so far in context to working for social cause. It’s been one month over here I got experience of many things because every day I need to face new task which helped me to learn many aspects of life.
It gave me a sort of professional exposure via various mediums. It was also very interesting because it was a new learning curve for me. I got to know the things in very simple and lucid manner
Best things ?
Being in an international organization I got to know many things how an NGO works, what are their targeted areas etc.
- It is a delight for me to see the commitment by which my NGO members do their work.
- After spending a month over here I found one lacuna due which it increases lot of pressure on employers of the NGO i.e. there is huge amount of paper work on small issues which is useless to be fulfill by the employers which leads to wastage of time and it decreases efficiency as well.
- There is lot amount of government intervention when a NGO undertakes any government project which leads to frustration among members and they don’t able to work with their whole dedication.
Bad things
Just you need to ask them for work. Everyone is busy in their own work. There is no special attention.
Biggest Lessons
No work is big or small; you can carved out ample knowledge from anything.
