R.R. SAHAYA & ASSOCIATES (RRSA), under the patronage of Padmashree Prof. (Dr.) N.R. Madhava Menon, is pleased to announce the Inaugural edition of The R.N. Sahay National Legal Essay Competition.

This National Essay Competition is instituted in the memory of Late. Ratneshwar Nath Sahay who was a fourth generation lawyer, a connoisseur in Civil Law, an Eminent Jurist & Educationist of unified Bihar, whose legal career spanned from 1934-1988.

The competition is open to all students pursuing the 3-year or 5-year Law Course from any College/University/Institution recognised by the Bar Council of India, in India.

Topics:

1. Media Trial: Freedom of Speech Vs Fair Trial.

2. Insider Trading & Corporate Espionage: Need for adequate legislation in India.

3. Changes brought in the position of Hindu Women’s Right to Inheritance, Coparcenery & Property Rights vis-à-vis The Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005 and its Historical Context.

4. Confidentiality against Transparency in Arbitration – Facets of the same coin?

5. The legal & moral viability of death sentence as a deterrent in sexual offences with particular reference to the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013.
