About
For a decade, the GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC), organized by Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, served as a unique platform for law students to explore nuances of international trade law and hone their research and advocacy skills.
The competition boasts of successful past collaborations with WTI, University of Bern; IELPO LLM Programme, University of Barcelona; Borden Ladner Gervais LLP; Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys (L&S); Trade Law Guide; Centre for WTO Studies, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Lex Witness, Westlaw, Thomson Reuters India and Manupatra.
The competition also hosted panelists reputed in the area of international trade law, including Mr. Ujal Singh Bhatia (WTO Appellate Body Member), Prof. Michael Hahn (Director, World Trade Institute, University of Bern), Mr. Greg Tereposky (Partner and Founder of Trade Law Guide) and Ms. Altagracia E. Cuevas Arthur (Coordinator, IELPO LLM Programme, University of Barcelona).
The 10th GIMC 2018 involves a simulated hearing under the WTO dispute settlement system of the case “Khindira – Measures Taken Pursuant to the Agricultural Livelihoods and Food Security Act”.
The moot problem, based on the Agreement on Agriculture, has been authored by Mr. Nicolas Lamp, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Queen’s University, Canada. He previously authored the moot proposition for the 2014-2015 edition of the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law.

Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, INDIA.
Prizes
The Winners and Runners-up of the Competition will receive cash prizes of INR 50,000 and INR 25,000 respectively, among other prizes.
Prizes will also be handed out to the Best Orator (Finals), the Best Orator (Preliminary Rounds), the team with the Best Memorials and the Best Researcher.
Important Dates
Last day for registration and completion of all formalities: October 10, 2017.
Last day to apply for clarifications regarding the Moot Problem: October 20, 2017.
Clarifications, if any, to be published: November 3, 2017.
Last day for submitting the soft copy of the written submission: January 7, 2018.
Last day for submitting the hard copy of the Written Submission: January 12, 2018.
