About the Fellowship
Daksha is the first law fellowship in India to offer sector-specific specializations. Students can opt to specialize in
Technology Law and Policy: In addition to general courses like data protection, cybercrimes and intellectual property law, this pathway will provide sectoral exposure to areas like telecommunications, financial technologies and social media.
Law and Regulation: This pathway will provide a conceptual understanding of regulation and sectoral insights on key regulatory domains like energy and infrastructure, food and the green economy.
Disputes Resolution: This pathway will provide a comprehensive and conceptual understanding of emerging areas in dispute resolution such as arbitration, mediation and conciliation.
The Daksha Fellowship program innovates through a three-pillared approach to pedagogy
- The knowledge pillar encapsulates foundational courses in legal and non-legal domains
- The expertise pillar delves into a detailed study of specialized and sectoral practices
- The skillset pillar focuses on critical skills like effective communication, leadership readiness and data proficiency
Important Dates
- Applications Open: Monday, 2 March 2020
- Round 1 closes: Monday, 20 April 2020
- Round 2 closes: Monday, 25 May 2020
- Round 3 closes: Monday, 29 June 2020
- Program starts: Monday, 3 August 2020
The Daksha Fellowship aims to select candidates who meet the following requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized Indian institution, or a degree considered equivalent to the LL.B. program (integrated or non-integrated) from an international university. Students pursuing their final year of law and are expected to graduate before the program start date can also apply.
- Exemplary record of academic and extracurricular achievements.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Scores from one of the entrance exams – Daksha Fellowship Admissions Test, CLAT PG or LSAT-India.
How to Apply?
All applicants are required to submit an online application through the Daksha Fellowship portal.
The program will follow a rolling admissions cycle. However, applicants are encouraged to submit the form in the early rounds to increase their chances of selection and financial aid.
Program Fees
- Tuition (INR): 8.0 Lakhs
- Housing (INR): 1.8 Lakhs
- Admissions Fee (INR): 0.2 Lakhs
- Total fees (INR): 10.0 Lakhs
Candidates selected for the Daksha Fellowship shall be considered for up to 100% tuition fee waiver. Candidates will be expected to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 20,000 upon acceptance of the admissions offer.
