The brochure promised unadulterated fun in the Sun City of Jodhpur. True to word, the fest that takes its name from the location of National Law University, Jodhpur was a brilliant cocktail of fun and the spirit of competition. RGNUL Patiala demonstrated that spirit in ample amount to not only grab the winners trophy piping NLU-Delhi but also the Spirit of NH-65 award.

Be in the good books of your faculty members. Boot-lick them, if necessary. Or ask them "Sir/Ma'am, can I be your research assistant". This will sufficiently ego massage them. Scratching their heads, they are bound to ponder, "Have I turned into such a Big-shot, that I need a research assistant"?

A blunt pencil will save you time in CLAT. A cold water bottle will provide the much need relief in the May month. A wrist watch is definitely better than the wall clock in the CLAT hall. A fruit just before the CLAT exam and the energy it gives and the breath of the yogi and of the CLAT aspirant!

It pains me to see so many of our students devastated during the campus recruitment phase when they fail to land jobs with prestigious firms. And the one question I always ask is: are you sure this is what you want to do? Or are you merely following in the illustrious footsteps of your seniors? Surely, there are a million different ways of putting legal skills to use? Thinking "out of the box" and doing something different than being a mere cog in the wheel of corporate transactional lawyering is certainly more appealing?

The deadline for submitting the forms to the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme which is meant to "generate interest in and awareness about the Indian banking sector and RBI" is October 22. The Times of India has reported the announcement of CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2011 here. The CLAT 2011, to be organised by the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata will be held on May 15, 2011.
