The Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies (RGICS) is an independent national public policy think tank working on cutting edge policy challenges at the intersection of public policy and politics.
RGICS seeks to democratize the policy space by opening up policy making to the voice of common people; lending policy support to peoples’ struggles for policy change; and enhancing the policy competence of elected representatives and political activists. The Institute is promoted by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.
The RG-RALs program provides a unique opportunity to work with a cross-section of MPs from the Indian National Congress on cutting edge policy and legislative challenges facing India.
Selected RG-RALs will be an integral part of the RGICS Policy Research Service which provides quality, non-partisan and professional research assistance on policy issues to Members of Parliament. They will also be involved in the research work of the Institute.
RG-RALs will undergo a rigorous orientation program and will be guided by subject experts.
Eligibility:
- Indian citizen; maximum 25 years of age.
- Graduate with an outstanding academic record, exceptional leadership qualities and achievements.
- Proven excellent analytical and communication skills (written and spoken, in English).
- Proven research skills and past experience or published articles in policy work would be highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel to rural areas for field-work.
- 28 years for SC/ST applicants
Stipend: Fixed Monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 20,000-22,000/- based on qualification & experience.
No. of positions: 15
Duration and Location: RG-RALs will be required to work full time for a period of one year, based in New Delhi.
