Volunteering / Internship Opportunity: Work with Association Of World Citizens (AWC), an International NGO with UN consultative status.
Internship Tenure
Association Of World Citizens, invites applications for an internship tenure between December 2015 and December 2017.
Eligibility
The internship is open to all youth between 13 to 30 years of age.
About
We have NGO Consultative Status with the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the United Nations’ Department of Public Information (DPI).
We hereby invite a group of volunteers to support AWC’s imitative for Humanitarian Effectiveness.
This project on “Humanitarian Effectiveness and Youth” will focus on youth engagement in Humanitarian activities.
The projects are of two kinds
1. Online Volunteering- Blogs, Reports, Photographs.
2. Field Work- Visit to Refugee Camps, Teaching Refugee children, youth training.
About AWC
AWC is an international peace organization with consultative status with ECOSOC.
AWC has almost 40 chapters across the world and we are one of the stem organizations of AWC in India-Bangladesh.
AWC-Youth is working towards strengthening youth participation at global level and also within the respective state levels.
Aim
AWCY provides platform to International youth focused on international humanitarian action aimed at saving and preserving life, preventing and alleviating human suffering, and supporting life with dignity for those affected by man-made and natural disasters.
We work with displaced people in India and neighboring countries such as issues related illegal migrants in India and Bangladesh and refugee rights in India and other countries in Asia region.

Prerequisites
Interns are expected to be:
Highly-Motivated individuals who take on initiatives regularly and do not need constant supervision.
Familiar with humanitarian issues and international affairs.
Creative and patient to teach differently-abled students in an effective manner.
Primary Responsibilities
Training and guiding youth refugees in refugee camps
Reporting after each week of the Project’s progress.
Working Hours
The minimum duration of an internship is four weeks.
During weekends, interns are expected to work for 10 hours.
During the weekday, work will only be for 2 hours.
This rule is however not set in stone and selected interns will be given some flexibility in timings if the
need arises.
Stipend
No Stipend will be provided.
Certificate
A certificate will be awarded for interns and it will state that the internship is a full-time program.
