The UNU Office of the Rector offers highly qualified applicants the opportunity to work as Junior Fellows at their headquarters in Tokyo.
The programme is focused on graduate level students, as well as young professionals who will contribute to the work of the Office and to the development of the UN system itself.
The purpose of the programme is to encourage the practical application of the knowledge gained through graduate studies.
About
The purpose of the Internship programme is to promote interaction between scholars and the University, as well as to help familiarize junior fellows with the activities of the Office and help them gain experience in a UN agency.
Junior Fellows will engage in a large number of activities, such as research and preparation of executive briefs on priority issues, project management, event coordination, meeting coordination and editorial support.
Eligibility
1. The applicants must be currently pursuing masters or graduate studies, in a field related to the University’s work.
2. They must be under 32 years of age and have no more than five years of experience in the given field.
3. As far as the communication skills are concerned, applicants must have a native or fluent command of the English language, as well as the capability to maintain effective working relations with different types of people.
4. They must also have great research skills, as well as advanced computer knowledge and creativity.
Internship Duration
18 January to 30 June 2016.
Deadline
The deadline for this round of applications is October 25, 2015.
Junior Fellows are selected twice per year, once for the fall term and once for the spring term.
