Avani pursued B.A.LL.B (Honours) from Hidayatullah National Law University (India), BCL and M.Phil in Law from University of Oxford (UK) and is currently pursuing LL.M. from University of Harvard (USA).
Before joining Harvard Law School, Avani practiced litigation in her hometown Harda, at the District Court.
While at Oxford, she was the President of Oxford Lawyers Without Borders, Associate Editor of the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal and was the first law student to be ‘highly commended’ as part of the Vice Chancellor’s Civic Award scheme for her pro-bono work and community caring.
She was a recipient of scholarship for an Academic Exchange Programme to Max Plank Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (Hamburg, Germany) and has interned with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Geneva.
