The Centre for Urban Policy and Governance at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai along with Instituto dePesquisa e Planejamento Urbano e Regional, Rio and University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban is organizing an International Conference “Rethinking Cities in the Global South: Urban Violence, Social Inequality and Spatial Justice” from the 20th to 22nd January 2016 in Mumbai.
The conference will debate critically upon what constitutes the urban in the global south and what conditions, coalitions, collaborations make possible a more socially equitable and spatially just city.
The idea is to build a south-south network of urban researchers, practitioners, academics, policy makers and activists.
The abstract submission will be open from the 15th of May 2015. The deadline for abstract submission is July 31 st 2015, 6.00 pm E.S.T.
