The hunger strike by the students of NLU Assam has yielded results.
According to a Legally India report NALSAR’s Registrar, Vijinder Kumar, has been elected as the new VC of the University.
Below is the brief profile of Mr. Vijender Kumar:
Dr. Vijender Kumar is Professor of Law and Head, Centre for Family Law. His books titled “Hindu Law of Adoption 2004” and “Law Relating to Domestic Violence 2007”, his Revised Editions of “Family Law in India” by Professor G.C.V. Subba Rao, (8th edition, 2004, 9th edition 2007 and 10th edition 2011) and “Hindu Law and Usage” by Mayne (16th edition, 2009 and 1st rep. 2010), and his Edited book titled “Global Perspectives in Consumer Law, 1st edition 2011” are especially noteworthy. Recently, Prof. Kumar has been awarded ‘Academic Staff Commonwealth Fellowship 2009-2010 for six months and ‘Visiting Professor’ at King‘s College London, UK for one year.
