About the Conference

With the emergence of the welfare state and it endures to ameliorate the socio-economic condition of people through positive state action, law and development have become so interrelated that it has become the crucial function of legal education to produce lawyers with greater vision and social commitment. Legal education should serve society by imparting to law students, general and cultural education which will instill into the students the spirit of the culture, democracy, rule of law, the need to uphold the law and to be fearless at the same time.

Legal education has to fulfill different roles in society and its horizons are ever-expanding. The budding lawyers have to discharge a variety of functions right from conventional lawyering to think tanks of policymaking and torchbearers of change.
