The Delhi Commission for Women is a statutory body of the Government of Delhi constituted to investigate and examine all matters relating to the safety and security of women under the constitution and other laws in Delhi, India. The current chairperson of DCW is Swati Maliwal, who took charge on 29 July 2015.
Job description
Legal Counselor
Job Description: To peruse complaints received in the Commission and assess each case for further course of action. Assist Members of the Commission. Give legal advice/counselling to the complainants/ parties to the cases. Other duties in accordance with the position and skills assigned from time to time.

Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree required (Masters preferred) from a reputed university in the field of law and registration in Bar Council.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a related field (requirement will be relaxed under exceptional circumstances).
- The candidate must have knowledge of computer including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as Manupatra, SSC Online, Lexis Nexis, Westlaw etc and proficiency with Microsoft office suite.
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated the capability of handling crisis situations.
- Willingness to undertake fieldwork and Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary
Minimum of pay plus DA at the rates applicable in Level-7 of the Pay Matrix.

- Detailed resume/CV.
- A statement of purpose is not more than 1000 words explaining why the candidate is applying for the post (MUST)
- Copies of 02 Bail applications moved by the Advocate with Court orders and/or Certified copies of cross-examinations of any 02 material witnesses conducted by the Advocate and/or Copies of 02 judgments in the cases contested by the Advocate and/or Copies of 02 Plaint/Written Statement drafted by the Advocate. (MUST)
- A number of cases dealt by the advocate since 01.01.2017.
- Relevant proof for academic and work experience.
All applications must be accompanied by a brief resume of the candidate. The resume must contain the following details besides other information about the candidate:
- Articles/research papers written and details of the publication of the same if any.
- Special academic achievements, if any.
- Details of co-curricular as well as extracurricular activities including moot court competitions and client counselling competitions.
- Statement of Purpose for applying for the selected post in not less than 1000 words.
The applications in the prescribed format accompanied by complete CV/Resume and other documents should reach this office on or before 31st July 2019 by 4.00 p.m. The Commission’s decision with regard to the rejection or acceptance of the application shall be
final.
