About the organisation

The Electricity Act 2003 was enacted by the Government of India to consolidate the laws relating to the use of electricity and generally for taking measures conducive to the development of the electricity industry. Under the Act, the Central Electricity Authority, the Regulatory Commissions and the Appellate Tribunal were also established.

The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for the state of Goa and Union Territories started to function with effect from August 2008 with the objectives and purposes for which the Commission has been established.

Job description

Joint Regulatory Electricity Commission’s Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) at Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli is calling applications for Nominated Members.

Number of Vacancies

Goa: 1 (one)

Dadra and Nagar Haveli: 1 (one)

Eligibility

Bachelor Degree in Law/Public Administration/Journalism/Economics/Political Science or equivalent and familiar with consumer affairs.

He/She should preferably be a representative of a registered society or NGO/Consumer Organization having one or its main objectives as consumer protection with at least 5 years of standing, or alternatively should have five years of experience in consumer-related matters.

Salary

Rs. 45,000/- (Rupees Forty-Five Thousand Only) per month.
